5/1/11

Gave up on the hotel's internet, would let me surf, but took forever to post anything.

1)Grateful that the trauma with Osama Bin Laden is reaching some closure.  I feel so sad that it had to happen with so much death, and the ripples of pain that family members had to deal with.  I don't understand those cultures and how removed those regimes are from simple basic humane behavior.  I am grateful for the families whose loved ones gave so much time, and sometimes their lives so that we don't have to live in countries with governing rulers like OBL.

2) Glad to see my kids tonight.  Shon and I had a wonderful time.  I love that we are such good friends that we can talk or not, joke or not, hang out...or be secure enough to hang out with our friends.  I love him so much and what he can teach our kids, he is tough but tender at the same time.  He will not be thrilled that I am sharing this, but we were all watching Extreme Home Makeover tonight and there was a family whose dad was in Afghanistan.  Their youngest daughter had breathing problems and there was mold from flooding in their house making her and the whole family sick.  I ALWAYS cry at that show, but I fell in love with Shon all over again tonight when I saw that he had tears in his eyes about it too...of course, he didnt' want to admit it, but he finally gave in and said so. loll

3) Reading part of Toby's book with him tonight before I tucked him in.  I used to read to the kids almost every night, but now they are older, it doesn't happen as much.  We read scriptures together and during the summer we pick a book and read it together, but not everyday like we used to, I miss it.
